the past few days have been amazing. susan and i had a blast during her visit. we even went to see RENT on saturday night. my first broadway show and it was freakin' amazing! we had lunch before the show at one of the best indian restaurants i've ever eaten. i'll be back there again for sure! we did a slight bit of shopping at Century 21 and had dinner with my cousin and his wife on friday night. the restaurant was the cutest place with all kinds of baubles and pretties all over the place. a bunch of little girls were there for a cute little party as well. if you ever want to have some really good stick to your ribs kind of food and some incredible desserts, serendipity 3 on the upper east side is the place for you. we pretty much capped off Susan's visit with the NYC marathon on sunday. jamy, claire, gina, pat, stewart, and john were our friends/family in the race and we are so proud of them all for finishing and achieving this amazing accomplishment. we got a spot right on the barricade near the 26 mile marker. ainsley wasn't too thrilled with not being able to interact too much. poor doggie. i think that for susan and i, the experience was moving, touching, inspiring and somewhat motivating--not to run a marathon or run anything but to be determined and persevere towards my goals. i watched people of all shapes, sizes, abilities, ages, nationalities, races, ethnicities, religions, etc. run past me towards the completion of a long sought after goal. i watched people who were running their first marathon and people who were running their 100th marathon. i watched people who were running for a cause and people who were running for the sheer joy of running. if you've never witnessed the NYC marathon (or any major marathon) firsthand, i strongly suggest that you put it on your list of things to do and work hard to check it off. it is purely amazing! while it was uncomfortable sitting in the same spot for such a long time, we enjoyed the experience. the eye candy wasn't so bad either. i KNOW i'll be a spectator again next year! anyone care to join me????

Happy Happy Birthday...late but good wishes anytime are nice! The forties are great. Well some parts of it isn't but the attitude part and confidence part is great. I am so glad you had someone so fun to share it with!
And I would give anything to be able to run a marathon!
That sounded like a fantastic thing to do....I've never watched the Marathon close-up...The first year of the L.A. Marathon, I could see people with my binoculars because of the particular route they took that year...But, it has to be pretty awesome, close-up...Did you see Katy Holmes?? (LOL)
And you got to your first Broadway show...BRAVO to you! I hope it is the beginning of a great love affair with the Broadway Theatre...
