our new addition is settling in just fine. it's been 24 hours since we picked her up and she seems to have accepted us. us being me, ainsley, & petey.
i'm just letting her get used to things while letting her know the new boundaries here.
i just found out she makes a mean fart for such a little dog.
you can find her pictures at my flickr account.
i did decide to change her name from hattie-belle to orie. it was my grandmother's name.

She is adorable. Any idea what her heritage is? I can see the chihuahua in her, but do you know what she's mixed with?
ADORABLE!
orie is doing awesome. she is still a bit territorial with petey the cat. she lunges and growls at him. she is, strangely enough, being submissive to ainsley. strange because ainsley hasn't tried to do anything but stay out of her way.
we started working on a few basic commands like "come" and "sit". i hope that by watching ainsley it will all click for her eventually. she is still quite a bit unsure of things, but she is constantly by my side and constantly seeking approval and attention. in a sense i hate that she does that because it means she hasn't had someone just love her and accept her without hitting her. if i raise my voice too high she will get as flat to the ground as possible and start crawling to my feet to lick my feet and show her belly. that just breaks my heart.
coolchick--her paperwork says she was picked up as a stray in Leasburg (sp) NC and that she is a fiest. i'm guessing she is a chihuahua / fiest mix. whatever she is, she really IS 100% adorable!
I'm not familiar with a Leesburg NC, but there's a Leesburg, VA. And I agree with you - she looks like she could be a feist/chihuahua mix. She has a really sweet face.
Well, how's it going?!
Crap. Remind me to read the other comments before I open my mouth.
:)
Just too cute!
