whoooooo boy!

i just spent a few days in San Diego for a conference. the weather was a welcome change from the sub-sub-freezing temperatures being enjoyed by the winter lovers back home in Wisconsin. there was more stress involved in getting to this conference than i could possibly have imagined, but i guess i should be used to it by now.
during the trip, i was able to get in contact with some friends from the Canine Companions Team Training. Paul has Ainsley's sister, Alea. Paul's girlfriend, Jenn, got Talis a year later. All of our dogs are hearing alert assistance dogs. Paul, as to be expected, was spending the weekend fishing and lobster trapping so he was unable to join us for our little reunion. Jenn brought Alea & Talis to meet Ainsley. we then visited with Talis' puppy raisers, Tiffany & Katie (daughter & mama team). it was quite a sight to see five very well trained golden/lab mixes running around inside of one house together. Ainsley was the only long-hair amongst them. Katie's neighbor, Cindy, is also a puppy raiser and she was there with her current puppy, Hedda. Katie currently has a 14 month old puppy named, Prado. Hedda, Prado, Alea, Talis, & Ainsley made such an adorable, fuzzy bunch of pups.

Here's the picture! L to R: Alea, Ainsley, Talis, Prado, & Hedda

I'm so jealous you got to go to San Diego and leave Cheeseland. But I do hope you had fun!
